Columbus Replica Ships are Coming to Corpus Christi 01/22/2012 04:50 PM
Having just had a lesson on Columbus this past friday, imagine my surprise when I saw that the Columbus Replica Ships are coming to Corpus Christi in March! Beginning March 9th, the ships, replicas of the "Nina" and "Pinta," will be docked at the Corpus Christi Municipal Maria until their departure on March 19th. Now's a great time to schedule a group educational tour with them.

When this week started, I can honestly say that my house was halfway clean, but as the week is coming to an end, all I can think of is "What a mess!" It's all thanks to American Heritage Girls and even though my house looks like a tornado went through the dining room and it's driving me crazy, I'm totally grateful to them and here's why.

New Year, Finally Home, and Out of the Kitchen! 01/12/2012 03:45 PM
It's a New Year, I'm finally home longer than 5 days and thank goodness, I'm finally out of the kitchen long enough to get other stuff done! That's right, it's a recap of the craziness of love, family, faith and food fest that we call the Holidays! Considering that we technically only spent Christmas Eve at home this year, it's been kind of crazy and it's just now that we have a breather. How are you doing? Have you recovered from the holidays yet?

I'm going to blame it on the weather! I'm also going to blame it on my husband. I can you know. Everything else is his fault! I'm going to blame it on my children. I'm even going to blame it on me! But if you really must the know the truth, I have to blame it on the weather! The weather is the root of all!

So a while back I wrote about Signs and Warnings popping up around our house and we pretty much got used to them. So, I really don't know why the sign my daughter put up in the dining room the other day caught my eye, but I thought it offered some sound advice for the other kids in the house and seeing as she is six I thought that was pretty clever of her and it reminded me of someone......

Horseback Riding, fishing, bar-b-ques by the river, rides on a stagecoach pulled by a tractor, two person rocking chairs, campfire and s'mores, a playground, golf, cowboy singers, a laid back atmosphere, good accommodations, and if you can believe it, a water park were just some of the main attractions offered by this little family vacation gem just a few hours north of Corpus Christi. It was also a place where our family decided to go a little country for a few days and we're sure glad we did. Where was it you ask? ...

As the new school year is already underway for most everyone, including our homeschooling family, I thought I'd share with you the following homeschool humor courtesy of our youngest. She wasn't really trying to make us laugh, but she had a point to prove against her dad and it was great! So last week was Mother's Day, and while most Mother's were hopefully getting pampered by their families and being treated to breakfast in bed, or jewels, a fabulous meal, or maybe just getting a break and enjoying bon bons while hanging out on the couch (which by the way many people think mom's do all day), I was not thinking about what I wanted, but instead I was running around getting ready for a crazy, but glorious day....
