So last week was Mother's Day, and while most Mother's were hopefully getting pampered by their families and being treated to breakfast in bed, or jewels, a fabulous meal, or maybe just getting a break and enjoying bon bons while hanging out on the couch (which by the way many people think mom's do all day), I was not thinking about what I wanted, but instead I was running around getting ready for a crazy, but glorious day....

You are not my real mom.....those are the words that came from my 6 year old while I was tying her kickball shoes today. She smiled and I looked puzzled. When I heard her explanation, I was pretty happy.

'Fat Albert' is dead! He died yesterday during the day. In the morning we knew he wasn't doing that well. His tail looked like it had been taken off somehow and we were worried for him. We were right to be worried, he died later in the afternoon. Our son said......'this time it's for real,' and it was.

We had a great time this evening even if it was a little late to be eating homemade pretzels, but the kids really were happy to be a part of it and it turned out to be a really, fun and meaningful family time together.
