Upon Waking - A poem dedicated to my daughter

My first thought this morning was that of my little one. She's beautiful, smart, and full of life. She also likes to come in my room at night. So, this morning upon waking, this was my first thought:

Upon Waking

Oh little knees,

Against my back,

Please kindly

Move them back.

They’re bony, hard,

And make me suffer.

They make my night

 A little rougher,

I love that you

Come in at night,

To snuggle

 And hold me tight,

But I ask you kindly

Please my dear,

Instead of your knees,

Can I have your derrier?
